Hello, I’m facing difficulties with my 3080 Ti 12GB from Gigabyte, purchased from Newegg about six months ago. The issue is similar to another discussion, but the fix in that thread didn’t help me. I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps without success. My current setup includes:
- Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Plus
- RAM: 4x8 GB G
- CPU: Ryzen 5950X
- Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB
- GPU: Gigabyte 3080 Ti 12GB (GV-N308TGAMING OC-12GD)
Power Supply: Corsair RM750 (2019), 750W, 80+ Gold
What’s happening now?
When I try to boot my PC with the 3080 Ti, there’s no video output and the VGA indicator stays on. I can’t get any display at all. The problem started roughly two weeks ago after a game caused video loss. I reinstalled the card twice before it worked for about a week. After shutting down and restarting, the issue returned when trying to boot again. Even after multiple reinstalls, nothing changed.
I also saw another thread where fixing things meant resetting MSI afterburner settings or uninstalling it. I tried that too—no improvement.
Other attempts:
- Reinstalling graphics drivers (using ddu or NVIDIA options) helped temporarily.
- Clearing CMOS, doing a clean Windows install, and reinstalling drivers worked for a short time.
- Running Malwarebytes didn’t find anything suspicious.
What should I do next?
- Back up any important data before proceeding.
- Consider a fresh Windows installation if warranty isn’t available or support is unreliable.
- Check for other software that might interfere, though I’m not sure what else could be the cause.
- If possible, verify power connections and use quality connectors (two 6+2 cables recommended).
Let me know if you’d like help with a clean install or further diagnostics.
