I attempted to execute one of the 3Dmark tests during my lunch break, but it encountered the same issues. After restarting to Valhalla, the system crashed within five minutes. The scan with "sfc /scannow" didn't reveal any damaged files, suggesting a potential need for a full Windows reinstall. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, I’ll test one RAM stick at a time to check for faulty DIMMs. Should it persist, I might remove the existing Corsair power supply or arrange to bring the 3080 over to a friend’s machine for evaluation.
The problem continues no matter which RAM stick is in the MoBo. This doesn't exclude the possibility that both sticks are defective, but it seems unlikely both would fail simultaneously with the same issue. It might be the faulty RAM slot causing more noticeable problems during memory tests like memtest86. I'm considering replacing the power supply or moving the 3080 to another system. If neither of those works, perhaps the motherboard or CPU is the root cause?
I managed to transfer the 3080 to another machine and the problem followed the card. The new setup had a 1000w PSU instead of my 850w, so there was no risk of overloading it. It seems the card is still faulty even after returning it for an RMA. I’m heading back to tackle more issues with MSI.
the leadex iii is expected to be among the top PSUs, while superflower is recognized for premium components. OEM parts for Evga are also common. The error code seems unrelated to a PSU, possibly indicating a Windows installation issue or a faulty BIOS/motherboard. I’d strongly recommend installing Windows 10 rather than Windows 11.
