Hello. I've been considering upgrading my wireless router, but every time I asked the same thing: "Do I actually need this?" My setup has 30Mbps internet in a two-floor house. The modem cable connects to a TP-Link WR940N for the lower floor and from there to a TP-Link WR841N for the upper floor. Both routers provide full Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home. At home, we have several devices—five smartphones, one laptop, an Android TV, and a PC connected via Ethernet. I initially chose the TP-Link AC1200 Dual Band Router, but is it really essential for someone with faster internet who wants to expand their Wi-Fi range? Please tell me if you're right or wrong.

Choose a range extender instead of a new router. Expect prices between $20 and $50 based on quality and distance. Need a dual-band router so different devices can use both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Either offer both options or keep one extra unit.

Given this connection speed, I wouldn’t upgrade my Wi-Fi. If you’re still thinking about improving it, I recommend Ubiquiti Ac Lite. I already use two in my house and across two floors, and I’m really satisfied with them.
