Hi everyone, here are the details: I’m using an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk Ryzen 5 7600 with a 32 GB DDR5 RAM setup (2x16GB) from Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz. The system runs on a 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe SSD and a Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics card, powered by an MSI MAG A750GL PSU. I recently upgraded everything and restarted the PC to update BIOS settings. After that, it failed to boot and hasn’t started since. Everything powers on normally—fans spin, RGB lights work—but when I open the case, the CPU’s EZ Debug light stays lit. Holding the power button doesn’t shut it down. The mouse and keyboard also won’t turn on, even though they’re connected via USB on the motherboard. I’m trying to figure out if the issue is with the motherboard or the CPU. Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!

This seems to point toward a motherboard problem. However, it's also possible the RAM is the issue. If I go through troubleshooting, I'd start by resetting the CMOS and test with just one RAM module. Should still fail, I'd reinsert the CPU and inspect the board for bent pins. I’d also try booting without the heatsink to see if the CPU gets hot. If it does warm up, I’d install a proper heatsink carefully. It’s been a long time since I faced strange malfunctions—my PC won’t even power on. I’ve tried everything: reseating CPU, checking pins, updating BIOS, even swapping in another CPU from a friend. Nothing worked until I replaced it with my own.

If changing the CPU doesn't help, your motherboard is likely faulty. Contact support for replacement.

When it functions properly, avoid merely adjusting the BIOS settings and instead replace the CMOS battery.

Sorry, I didn't reach that point. I reset to enter the BIOS and then things went wrong.

Installed a new cooling solution by taking off the heatsink to check for improvement, but the problem persisted and the chip remained cool to the touch. Is this still a motherboard?

I replaced the CPU and turned everything on without a heatsink to check for warmth. It remained cool. I don’t have another AM5 board or CPU available for testing.

You arranged a free replacement from Amazon and only need to return the faulty board.
