This scenario applies only to very ancient and niche OEM motherboards. Consumer boards from companies such as MSI or Gigabyte wouldn’t require updated BIOS releases.

We usually don’t require it most of the time. Still, I suggest keeping everything current, including the BIOS. That way you get reliability, safety, maybe better speed, and smooth compatibility.

I’d rather avoid updating the BIOS because a failed flash might permanently damage the motherboard. The board I’m talking about is an older HP OEM model found here: https://www.amazon.com/HP-536458-001-800...B00MHVBUR2
