I purchased Arma 3 at a discount, but I've heard it can strain even top builds. With my current setup, I'm wondering what performance level I can achieve while keeping frame rates steady at around 30 FPS. My CPU is an Intel Core i7-2600 (boosted to 3.8 via "Limited Unlock"), the GPU is a PNY XLR8 GTX 970 at stock speed, and I have 16 GB of RAM (two 8 GB modules). The G.Skill TridentX 2133 MHz CL9 is also OC'd for higher speeds.

It's a highly demanding CPU game (poorly optimized). Likely medium to high performance at 1080p resolution.

Likely around 30 to 40 players active on a fairly standard 50-person server.

I've always stayed under 30, probably due to the multiplayer experience in singleplayer. My setup is server-based, and the CPU handles most of the work while the GPU manages graphics.

The download just completed and I accessed the video settings, which set it to the "Ultra" option by default. The menu is currently operating at around 50-55 frames per second, and I expect it to demand more processing power when the game starts.

I kept a casual glance, no tools used. My readings stayed around the 30s, with some spikes into the 50s and dips into the 20s.
