Hello. Your MacBook Pro has 256GB of storage, which isn’t huge. You’re looking to run Windows 10 for gaming, but you’re concerned about performance since MacOS is slower than Apple’s newer graphics options. The main issue here is space—you’ll need to understand how much RAM and storage Windows actually requires. This will help you decide if the switch is worth it or if sticking with MacOS gaming is better. Thanks!

If you plan to use the Windows partition, allocate around 50GB for games and applications. A fresh installation might be better with about 20GB reserved.

It grows fairly fast as well. Much more is happening in Windows than just what’s inside C:\Windows. Things like restore points, hibernation files, and page files are saved elsewhere. My restore points alone take up about 10.2GB. The hibernation and page files add another 8.8GB. Then there are all the AppData files, which live in your C directory regardless of where you install programs. You can shrink the pagefile and restore point size with minimal effort, but you’ll still need to account for more than 20GB.

A 100GB storage would be the best choice for a functional setup.

The programs require substantial space—about 30GB just for Windows without any additional software.
