I have a mini PC linked to a Samsung TV through HDMI, and the TV is also connected via HDMI to a Samsung q950 5.1 speaker system.
I'm having trouble making the PC detect the 5.1 setup, as it only shows stereo options.
After using Cru to adjust settings, I can select 5.1, but when testing, only stereo channels respond.
Can I find a way for the PC to recognize the TV is connected to a 5.1 system and output 5.1?

Could we try the system with the PC first linked to the soundbar, followed by the TV connected via the soundbar’s eARC port? Should the TV’s port support eARC or only ARC? Also, can we use the Dolby Access software on the PC, which offers a free 3-day trial?
I was thinking of doing this but the mini PC only has a single hdmi port. There is a vga port but I unfortunately dont have any monitors that still have a vga port.

I could be incorrect but my thinking/research led me to believe that the PC can only tell that its connected to the TV, which is max 2 channel. It can't tell that my TV is connected to a 5.1 system, so thats why only stereo sound is possible.

The TV model is the Samsung Q65, the mini PC is an HP EliteDesk 705 g3 SFF with an AMD Pro A8-9600 CPU and a CPU cooler that’s uncertain, the motherboard details are unclear, RAM is 4GB DDR4, storage includes a 500GB SSD or HDD spinning at 7200 RPM, the GPU is an integrated Radeon A7, and the power supply unit information is unknown. The chassis is standard SFF and the operating system is Windows 10 64-bit Home. The monitor is also a Q65 Samsung.
I connect the PC HDMI output to the soundbar's HDMI input first, then use the soundbar's EARC to the TV's EARC wiring. This setup works well for me, providing full 10 channels with Dolby Atmos. The manual indicates separate eARC and HDMI inputs, suggesting this method is ideal.
