I understand the situation clearly. Tomorrow marks the Windows 11 launch, but I’m curious about when OEM discs will become available. So far, I haven’t seen any Windows 10 listings at the stores. I’m not interested in Linux or alternatives—my setup is already on Linux, and as a developer I need access to M$ releases for testing. It’s frustrating seeing all the confusion around system requirements and marketing updates.

Would you prefer a DVD or an ISO? It seems unlikely there’ll ever be a DVD available for purchase, since it’s probably too large for one disk anyway—multiple copies are possible. There’s no release date mentioned, but an ISO should come soon. If you need to try your apps, just launch an insider VM right now; it’s likely very similar to the RTM version.

You can already obtain it online and set it up on a disc or USB stick. Just need an activation code. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows11

Windows 11 will become widely available next year. Presently, it’s limited to enthusiasts, early adopters, and OEMs so the system is ready for the holidays. Think of it as a gentle introduction now, with a more formal launch later. If you need a physical copy, Windows 11 is already out there. You can download the ISO, burn it to a disk, or use Rufus or Media Creation Tool to prepare a USB drive—just make sure to select "for another PC" during setup to avoid an automatic upgrade from Windows 10. Check the link shared in the prior message for details.

I understand you can get it now, but I remember preferring the original purchase of the official Windows 11 disc.

I question a disk release will exist. The buying method should also resemble today’s flash drives used for Windows 10. I wouldn’t anticipate this until next year. There isn’t much distinction between downloading the ISO and building your own drive. You can do that regularly so you avoid repeatedly attending update assistance during installations. Fresh images are delivered every few months straight from Microsoft due to this approach, saving time on setup.
