No content in the deluxe version is unavailable when you play the regular edition.
The deluxe edition doesn't include a season pass. • Early Access available on October 18th • Hellfighter Pack • Red Baron Pack • Lawrence of Arabia Pack • 5x Battlepacks The Hellfighter DLC is also offered with the standard edition preorder. The Red Baron and Lawrence of Arabia packs seem like features that might become available in the game, though I'm not certain. Battlepacks can be obtained by playing the game, since that's how they're earned in Battlefield 4. It appears the deluxe provides a basic boost with items.
Hold onto your investment until the feedback arrives. If the feedback is positive from reputable places, purchase it soon after launch or the first couple of days. The value shouldn’t rise. If the feedback is average, wait a bit longer and buy when the sale starts. This way you save money and can spend it right away on something useful.
The cost is expected to stay steady for some time after release and won’t rise. Waiting means you’ll pay the same price, though you’ll gain a clearer understanding of the game’s condition. If EA continues their usual pattern, we might see an open beta period before purchase. I’d hold off, particularly since Battlefield 4 initially faced many technical problems that were gradually fixed. Pre-orders remain uncertain, but DICE Stockholm hasn’t proven their reliability yet.
I really loved playing Battlefield 4 on PS3 with my friends, even though it was at 720p and there were many bugs that hadn’t been fixed for a long time. I didn’t realize they offered open betas, thanks for pointing that out. I wouldn’t expect the price to drop below $45 near launch, maybe up to $60.
Pre-ordering isn't wise. You're handing over your money without any hope of getting quality. I've been there before. Would you really want *Duke Nukem Forever*? Or *Resident Evil 6*? It would crash every ten minutes for me and my friend. I only pre-order if it's a solid deal, like when they include extra games you actually want.
