It's best to opt for a 7200rpm 8tb hard drive instead of the 5400rpm model because the lower speed could affect performance. Upgrading to an NVME drive might be necessary, and Intel offers a 1TB M.2 drive for just $20 more than the essential SSD. Make sure your 16gb 3200mhz RAM is a dual-channel setup (two 8gb sticks) to fully utilize the speed benefits of your Ryzen CPU. This upgrade isn't mandatory, but adding another stick later can provide dual-channel support if desired.

Opt for a faster SSD instead of a large, slow HDD. Upgrading to a second SSD at 5400rpm will not help with performance—just store your files.

people should abandon HDDs, SSD costs have dropped significantly over the past few years. I recall when a 120GB SSD cost around $120, whereas it’s now just $20.
