System details: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X at 3.6 GHz, Asus ROG Strix X570-E, 32 GB DDR4 memory, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2, EVGA 3080 Ti Hydro GPU, Corsair RMX 1000W power supply, water cooling. Recent upgrades to GPU and PSU. Primarily playing World of Warcraft, expecting lower FPS than desired. Consider optimizing CPU performance or planning a platform upgrade?

Same here, I received a 4080 and some titles feel alike if not identical in FPS (largely older games). As Ottoman mentioned, 5800x3d is now considered affordable and you can upgrade easily without needing a MOBO or extra RAM.

Make sure your bios are updated and you're ready to go. Explore the link in this old discussion about PBO—it requires some experimentation. I was aiming for slightly lower performance instead of higher, since efficiency is much better at reduced ppt and edc levels without sacrificing too much speed. These tools can also be used to achieve the opposite effect.
