I regularly load large amounts of UHS2, CFExpress or CFast cards, making the high write speeds of modern 980s impressive. This is especially noticeable when contrasted with today's 2.5 SATA SSDs I'm using.

The write speeds aren't really viable because of the TLC NAND technology it employs. Rather than the MLC/DLC found in the 970 Pro, consider more affordable Phison E16 options if you require high burst speeds.
