Before I could show CPU temps, the app stopped working. Reinstalling didn’t help. Any suggestions? I need to see it on the screen while gaming.

Afterburner is meant for your GPU, right? That's what I use it for. HWMonitor is what I rely on for all monitoring. It has... well, everything you need. I haven't used Afterburner to check CPU temperatures before. You can also open Task Manager's performance tab—it displays GPU and CPU current temperatures.

Back then I could monitor CPU temperatures directly on my old processor. Now I only have one screen, so I usually view the data in the top left or right corner.

I understand now. That's why I bought more than one monitor—probably to fix the drivers. New hardware sometimes doesn't work perfectly right away. As long as the rest of the system is handling the CPU, you might just have to wait a bit or get used to not seeing your stats instantly.

You could explore Aida 64. I haven't used MSI Afterburner to check if it reads my 5800x. Aida 64 offers many sensors and with a budget LCD, it can function as a secondary monitor displaying graphs and other data. It's not free—it costs around $35 per year or about $80 USD for three units. My setup looks like this. FPS is accurate only when I activate Rivatuner Statistics Server. You can run it on a basic LCD screen. The simplest approach is to locate one that uses a standard USB port on your PC and connects to your GPU. Even though it appears on such a small display, it's handled like a monitor. You can position it wherever you prefer.
