Hello, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my setup. I have an I7 6700K H100 GTX built with an M-series M7 Z170a motherboard, 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3000 MHz, and a Ryzen 7500X CPU. The system runs hot—about 60 degrees when idle, 100 degrees under load. I recently applied a thermal paste called Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and noticed the water cooling system is struggling: the coolant temperature often exceeds 50°C, the pump is running at full speed, fans are spinning max, and water flows through the tube but feels warm when I touch it. The situation is getting worse, especially since my fans are getting louder and the stress test showed only GPU noise before. I've moved the PC around a lot over the past three months, but I'm not sure that's the main issue. If you have any additional details or information I missed, please share. Otherwise, I hope someone can help me resolve this before I consider more drastic changes like replacing the CPU or switching to liquid cooling. Thanks in advance, and I appreciate your help! ^^
Are the fans still working? Is the pump operating? If the answer is yes, I believe you should reapply and reattach the cooler. Since you recently replaced the paste, it’s likely you made a mistake during the reattachment. Take it out, reattach properly, and give it another try.
It could just be the angle we're using, but that upper left corner seems off. Did it turn easily?
Thanks, I'll get started right away and let you know the outcome.
I was gonna redo the thermal paste work after dismounting my rig (the previous one was nice I think, But now there is this on CPU and AIO (see by yourself the pics), it isn't really rough or so, it's juste like if there had been a particle between the two surfaces (but there wasn't I m certain...) (they are kinds of very little "holes") what do you think it is ? and what should I do ? (I may have to remount it and repaste it to do some tests)
possibly, but it remained firmly in place with uniform force across the CPU
My cue indicates the fans and pump were functioning properly. It was clearly audible for the fans, and the pump operated even before the fans became too loud.
