Hey there! I just got the Patriot Viper Gaming DDR4 2x16 3600 CL18 and also had my 16GB Crucial Ballistix 3200 CL16 RAM removed. I was thinking about mixing them and whether I really need more than 32GB. My usage includes light editing, streaming, and gaming. MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX X5 70-F GAMING CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x GPU: ASUS TUF RX 6800XT Thanks in advance!
I haven't worked with 32GB or 64GB RAM video editing yet. If you can afford it, 64GB would be fine. At $58 it's a reasonable price, especially if you're not on a very tight budget.
Patriot performs well based on what I understand. 5900X might gain from its features.
the burner screenshot shows the Patriot kit ballistix running at 8Gbps. you’ll need to mix matching RAM, but since it’s a generic XMP setup, it doesn’t matter which exact model you buy. another 32GB unit with the same heat spreader should work fine, though you’ll likely run into issues above 4000MB due to clock and board limits.
It seems like you're suggesting a decision to either accept the current situation or go ahead and purchase additional items if needed.
