Hey there! I own the Meta Quest 3 and am trying to figure out what VRAM amount would work well for PCVR. I’m looking for a setup that’s at least as good as the original version but not too much extra. My current rig is a 1080 Ti with a Ryzen 2700 and 32 GB RAM. I’m not worried about running at full settings, just want something solid. I’m open to building my own PC or finding prebuilt options under 800 if that fits. Thanks!

If the motherboard is solid, focus on upgrading the CPU. I upgraded from a 2700X to a 5800X3D and the GPU finally performed better. If the board is adequate, simply add more RAM—1080Ti should suffice. If VRAM problems persist, try reducing texture quality first. Only then think about a GPU upgrade when performance isn’t meeting expectations.

Consensus is that the 1080 Ti works well for VR, particularly when contrasted with cheaper alternatives. Start by checking the CPU first. I owned a 2070S until last summer, which is still close to 1080 and performed nicely in VR. I was quite satisfied with it.
