My current setup uses the Asus TUF GAMING B660-PLUS WIFI D4 ATX LGA1700 and Intel Core i5-13600K. I understand I need BIOS version 1620. Warning: This motherboard supports the Intel Core i5-13600K with BIOS 1620. If it runs an older BIOS, upgrading will be necessary for compatibility. Checking the specs confirms this requirement.

It indicates the system can handle it. You may still require an updated BIOS, possibly a 12th Gen processor, to ensure compatibility with the 13600K. It seems there isn't a direct option on the board to change the BIOS without a CPU, but it's possible that the latest BIOS is already active depending on your purchase timing.

The documentation reflects the current hardware capabilities, assuming the case label matches the latest BIOS release. This indicates compatibility with 12th and 13th generation processors, provided a BIOS update is applied.

You probably need to install a BIOS update for the specific board you're getting to ensure compatibility with 13th generation CPUs. Because this board lacks BIOS Flashback, you'll also require a 12th generation CPU to perform that update. It's a risk, but it's unlikely the board will come pre-equipped for 13th gen. By the time B660 boards achieved 13th generation support, attention moved toward production of Z760 and B760 models.
