Hello, I encountered an issue updating my BIOS on Windows 11. The process asked me to save my encryption key, but I couldn’t locate it anywhere. Checking the Microsoft profile didn’t show any uploads, and BitLocker isn’t installed on my PC. It seems the update is only available on professional versions of Windows. I’m trying to avoid losing my SSD and will wait for the BIOS update instead.

Hello there! It seems you're asking if the message refers to your BitLocker encryption key or possibly a key kept in your TPM.

If you possess a BitLocker key, it can be used for backup.

Thanks for your message. I appreciate the quick reply. The firmware update on your motherboard can be tricky, especially without clear guides. Let me know if you'd like help troubleshooting or checking the update status.

Is there a concern about missing something, and would you prefer your data to be secured on the device when it's updated?

Without encrypting your data using BitLocker, it won't provide any protection against unauthorized access.
