I placed the order for Friday and prefer a build without an Intel Pentium K. I’m curious about its capabilities—can it handle games like GTA 5, even at low settings? I’m not sure if it supports HD or VGA, but I don’t have a monitor yet. It’s at my mom’s house right now. For reference, the build I’m considering is listed here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/t3T8XL. I’m only thinking about games such as GTA 5, COD Black Ops 2, Zombies, Skyrim, and Fallout. Please let me know if it can run those. Thank you!
I suggest waiting a little longer and upgrading your setup a bit more. You'll appreciate it later. You probably won't be able to play many AAA titles smoothly, so expect around 30 FPS at most in most modern games when running on low-med settings. We're not sure how GTA5 for PC will perform, but rumors suggest it could be quite demanding, so I'm not very confident. For older titles like Skyrim, Fallout, or COD BOPS2, you should be fine. As previously noted, Farmville should run beautifully on that system.
The idea seems like a gift for me. Right now I only have around $15 since I don’t have a job, so I’m getting what I can. I currently have a 7-year-old laptop that barely runs Garry’s Mod; I think if it works with Skyrim and Fallout, I’ll be happier than someone getting a super PC just to run any games. I have a PS3 for playing AAA titles, and I plan to sell it soon so I can upgrade this PC.
Ignore them—they’re just trying to tease. You should be able to enjoy the games smoothly even with 8GB RAM. A 260x resolution would be great. This setup won’t last forever, but I’ve seen older systems run Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls well at low settings. Just don’t expect non-stop 60fps; you’ll see drops to around 30fps during tough moments. The issue here is that most folks think below 60fps isn’t playable. That’s not true—I’d say it’s better than a fixed 30 if you’re on a budget.
