Ensure the onboard graphics are activated for your Lenvo ThinkCenter. With a dedicated GPU like the HD 5450, you should be able to enable it, even on an i5 2500 if settings are correctly applied.

The connection method doesn't produce an image because the BIOS may turn off built-in graphics when a dedicated GPU is present.

It’s connected to the VGA port but isn’t functioning. I looked into the BIOS settings and didn’t find any restrictions.

You can find settings in BIOS such as: or also look in Windows, Device Manager under Display adapter, do you see both there or just the Radeon?

My choices include IGD PEG PCI AUTO, and when shown via the display adapter it appears as just the Radeon.

Consider removing the Radeon and testing with different displays. If images still don’t appear, simply reinstall it without changing BIOS settings. Avoid forcing IGD in the BIOS because hardware problems could cause a complete loss of display, requiring a full BIOS reset to restore settings. It seems Lenovo might not initialize the HD graphics properly if a second GPU is present, so ensure both are managed via Device Manager.

I attempted this, and it functioned by my estimation. The issue likely stemmed from the graphics order—first the GPU was detected, then it stopped, failing to recognize the Intel drivers.
