Howdy all, I’ve just started to get back into it with my PC (Specs Below), it’s been a long while since I’ve changed anything & I wanted get my RAM to total up to 32gb & I’ve managed to order Thermaltake R019D408GX2-3600C18A thinking that this is the same as what I have, essentially it’s the same thing just higher Mhz will this all work together okay? Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 6 Core AM4 CPU, 3.8GHz 4MB 65W w/Wraith Stealth Cooler Fan GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Super Gaming 3X R2.0 8G OC Graphics Card Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max AM4 ATX Motherboard Ram: Thermaltake 16GB (2x8GB) R019D408GX2-3200C16A ToughRam Z-ONE 3200Mhz RGB DDR4 RAM PSU: Corsair 850W RM850x 80+ Gold Power Supply (CP-9020180-AU)
Comparing various configurations isn't the best approach. By default, performance will likely drop to 2666 MHz. It might work smoothly at 3200 MHz or even 3600 MHz under certain conditions. Using multiple sticks adds complexity for the CPU's memory controller, often leading to instability when mixing different speeds. The Zen 2's memory controller isn't particularly strong either.
It's likely the same RAM given the similar speeds of C16 3200 and C18 3600.
