Hi everyone,

Approximate purchase date: May 25
Budget range: 2-3k$
Usage priority from highest to lowest: Gaming -> multimedia
Not required parts: mouse, keyboard
Recommended local parts websites
Country: India
Overclocking: not needed
SLI or Crossfire: not needed
Monitor resolution: 4k 240hz
Additional notes:
AIO – worth it for this budget?
MOBO – is the MSI model sufficient? I’ve heard the X870 carbon Wi-Fi is beginner-friendly, so should I go with that?
PSU – Shift one is fine or should I opt for a standard one?
I’ll be assembling this myself, so please share some build tips and let me know if you think I should make any adjustments.

Please review my components and suggest any changes.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! It’s recommended to format your thread with the information discussed here; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*. Initially, it’s important to acknowledge where appropriate respect is owed—this adaptation comes from the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I developed it because many people are currently seeking upgrade guidance both on this site and in the CPU forums, and I believe... forums. can provide helpful suggestions while others contribute. Most of the site’s audience is based in the USA, so if you’re not from there, our advice might not always apply perfectly... often we’ll just exchange ideas as brands and parts availability can differ by region. AIO - worth it for this amount? Prices for components change depending on your location. MOBO - is MSI sufficient? I’ve heard the x870 carbon is beginner-friendly, so should you go for that one? Yes, MSI isn’t a terrible brand at all. The board you chose is generally solid. PSU - Shift one recommended? Or stick with the standard version? Are you referring to the non-Shift model? Your build looks fine, but if there’s room to improve it, I’d suggest giving it another try.

It depends on the game and your settings. There are some inconsistencies, like the drive listed as gen5 instead of gen4, and the monitor is clearly unnecessary. You won’t run a game that gains from 4K at those frame rates, so you’d better lower the resolution or frame rate and opt for a more affordable option. You’re just paying for something you’ll never use.

Updated thread, appreciated for the correction, it was 2011 lol. MOBO - is MSI sufficient? I've heard the x870 carbon WiFi is beginner-friendly, so consider that option.
Yes MSI isn't a terrible brand at all. The board you chose is generally solid.
Power supply - Shift one is a good choice? Or should I go with the standard model?
You're asking about the benefits of Shift one compared to others in terms of wiring.

Thank you for bringing this to attention. I've updated the thread accordingly. I was looking for an oled and specifically wanted one that is woled, and this is the only one in 4k I found. I won't be pushing 240fps on games, but that's typical with many factors. I don't drive my car at 220 km/hr, yet it still works fine, doesn't it?

It's too late, I've already placed the order. I wanted a 5090 but the price was too high and the 4090 was out of stock, so I'm settling with the 5080 now. Maybe I'll upgrade to a 90 class GPU next generation. I won't be running games at full resolution; instead, I'll use DLSS or frame generation to boost FPS, so it should work fine.

Adjust your game settings to boost FPS and make the best use of your monitor. With a 4K240Hz display, reaching around 200 FPS is challenging on high settings. I suggest lowering RTX and opting for DLSS quality at medium levels to achieve optimal performance!
