Metro by far is awesome! If you have PS, I'd definitely say Last of Us. Deadspace series is phenomenal. Resident Evil is great as well (but OP already has it.) Dead by Daylight is also very fun. I've heard Alien Isolation definitely is, but haven't played it yet. And the Legacy of Kain series was intense and semi horror (more gothic) when I played them as a kid, but not quite as much as an adult.
Alien Isolation is a truly great horror experience, though it leans more toward the "cat and mouse" style that the reviewer seems to steer clear of. The only effective way to push the alien away is by using a flamethrower for a brief moment before hiding under a table.
I recently played The Evil Within and really enjoyed it. The setting feels immersive, though there were some issues: during the standard difficulty I kept running out of ammo, while on the easier level there was too much and it lost tension. That’s why I’d probably play it on the normal setting as well. For co-op titles outside of Resident Evil 5 and 6, they’re solid but lack the horror vibe. I suggest checking out the HD remakes or remasters of Zero and Revelations, plus possibly Code Veronica if you’re up for old-school controls and graphics. Speaking of old-school, the Silent Hill series (1–5) is a great pick—most are on PC and even got HD versions for Xbox 360 and PS3. Metro 2033 also has some eerie moments and a nice atmosphere, though I wouldn’t call it a horror game in my opinion.
