Hi everyone, I’ve played all the Fallout titles except New Vegas since I jumped into Fallout 4, assuming it would feel old. But then I realized there are mods that could make it more enjoyable or less dated. I remember playing Skyrim with lots of modifications—I wondered if similar changes exist for New Vegas. Unfortunately, YouTube has too many suggestions and I’d probably waste time scrolling instead of playing. If you have any ideas, I’d really appreciate your help! Thanks a lot.

I haven’t spent much time in Fallout NV recently and considered playing it a few days ago while exploring mods. Fellout NV is worth checking—it eliminates the unpleasant yellow/brown tint. Adding texture packs can help refresh the look. I think starting with the NMC Texture pack and Fallout Character Overall as a base would be a good approach. I ended up going back to Skyrim instead of New Vegas, so I haven’t tried the mods yet, but those were the ones I was considering. Generally, I install mods by playing the game, encountering an issue, and then searching for fixes.

Seriously, enjoy New Vegas without any alterations. Obsidian crafted a title that surpasses anything Bethesda could produce. Ignoring the outdated appearance gives you a superior experience compared to what Todd Howard might envision.

Fellout NV works well. I usually use Nevada Skies with weather and night effects. Nevada Skies - Weather Effects in Fallout New Vegas is a mod and community favorite. I also enjoy adding Willow as a companion. It’s not rated, but it’s an extra character you can bring along outside Primm. She has her own quests you can pick up, and she doesn’t interfere with the main story or your ability to recruit others. It adds some variety by playing around with her, singing occasionally, and receiving small gifts like crayons or toy bears you find in the game. It helps break up the routine when traveling between locations.

Just enjoy vanilla, FNV >>> Bethesda Fallout titles. For quest mods, check out the Someguy series. Keep an eye out for the vulgarity, though. When it comes to modding, use Mod Organizer 2 as your organizer.

The mods I think are essential for playing F:NV are: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37884 Underground Hideout by danthegeek It offers a really great base with detailed weapon and armor displays, plus a snowglobe feature—there’s a lot to enjoy. Besides that, I appreciate the New Vegas Uncut mods, which bring back many unique and fun cut content that wasn’t included in the final game. Freeside Open and The Strip are examples of such additions: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38056 https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46355
