Welcome to the forums, newcomer! You're advised to stylize your thread with info asked of in this thread; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums. and the community can chime in with sowrthwhile suggestions. This site and the majority of it's user base are located in the USA, if you're not located in the USA, then chances are that our suggestion are going to be hit or miss for you...and often times will be us just going back and forth as brands and parts availability can and will vary due to region. AIO - worth it spending this much? Prices for part vary with region. MOBO - is msi good enough? I have heard x870 carbon wifi is beginner friendly so buy that one? Yes MSI isn't a bad brand, kind of. The board picked out is a good board in general. PSU - Shift one is good? Or go with standard one? You mean the non Shift version? The build you've listed looks good but if there's an avenue to refine it, I think you should exercise it.

It all depends on what you play and how hard you set it up. There are some small mistakes here though, like saying "Gen 5" when it's actually Gen 4, the monitor is probably unnecessary because you won't be playing games that need 4K at those frame rates, so I'd suggest lowering the resolution or the frame rate instead and getting a cheaper screen. You're just paying for something nobody will ever use.

Hey, thanks for flagging that up! Last time I was here it was way back in 2011 lol. MOBO - is MSI good enough? I've heard the X870 carbon wifi is super easy for beginners so maybe I should buy that one? Sure, MSI isn't a terrible brand, kind of bad but okay. The specific board picked out is pretty solid overall though. Can you recommend any other motherboard? I don't know what to look at after reading some online forums because it's all over the place with MSI but I really like their carbon thingy for the PSU - the Shift one is good? Or should I go with a standard one instead? Are we talking about the non-Shift version here? Yes, does the Shift one have any real benefits compared to just using the regular wire management features?

Thanks for finding a mistake in my list and fixing it. I now have an OLED screen, specifically one from the woled brand. That is the only woled model I could find for 4K. I won't get to 240fps on games like that does happen with so many things. Just like driving your car isn't always 220 km/hr, even if it's not fast enough it still works fine and isn't useless.

It's too late, brother. I've already got the monitor ordered. I really wanted a 5090, but it was way too expensive, and the 4090 isn't in stock right now. So I'm stuck with the 5080 for now. Maybe I'll upgrade to a 90-class GPU later on. Next gen stuff! But no games at native resolution anymore; I'll use DLSS and frame generation just to boost my FPS. I guess it'll be okay for me anyway.
