I aim to enhance my 2x4GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory to 2x8GB 3200MHz DDR4. My Ryzen 5 3600 is struggling with the slower RAM, and I need to confirm the 16GB will work. The motherboard is B450 A Pro Max, and the CPU is R5 3600.

You haven't found any issues with swapping it out. To achieve 3200 you must adjust the BIOS and pick the correct A-XMP setting. However, I'm uncertain if you'll see a significant improvement for your specific issue. If you think 8GB is insufficient, that's fine, but regarding performance, using the built-in AMD GPUs does make a difference. Otherwise, I'm not entirely convinced it's worth the change.
