I've been searching for a 3100 to finish my build, but it's hard to find one near the MSRP. I noticed tech supply offers them, though I'm unsure if they're reliable. Could I possibly get a restock at BestBuy? They might still carry them. I've decided against other processors since I already have my motherboard, and a 3300x would likely limit my graphics performance (specified as 760).

3300X outperforms 3100 consistently. Your graphics card may limit your gaming experience regardless of CPU choice. Are you near a microcenter store?

3300x is indeed more affordable on Newegg. This suggestion comes from a straightforward observation rather than any significant recommendation. If your budget allows for 3300x, consider 2600/x as an alternative option. Many games now perform well with six-core processors.

I’m relying solely on an online site, which I visited in under two hours, but my dad isn’t keen on going. After that, I might end up pushing my card too hard.

Using an online tool, I’m just starting to understand the parts involved, but I’m thinking about choosing a 1600/2600.

Visit Newegg, they likely have a 3300x model for $149. Avoid the 1600, aim for at least 2600 (used), expecting about $130 on eBay. Some motherboards don’t support the Ryzen 1000.

The motherboard unfortunately isn't compatible with the first and second generation models.

I’m planning to start with a 3300x now since I aim to push my graphics card’s performance. I’ll order it this Thursday, plus a new hard drive and maybe some fans to finish the setup—this project feels really exciting!
