Buying a retail copy of Windows 8.1 and getting the free Windows 10 upgrade in the first year might link your new Windows 10 license to your old Windows 8.1 license. This means you could install Windows 10 on other devices later, even after the initial free period ends. The upgrade process usually applies to the PC you initially clicked, but it’s possible the license transfers across systems depending on the setup. Let me know if you need more clarity!

I enhanced the license. I changed it from version 7 to 8 and installed it multiple times using the same key (twice).

This update will transform your license to a Windows 10 version. That’s what I believe.

You can purchase a Windows 8.1 license now for your current PC, then upgrade to Windows 10 later. If you need another system, you’ll have the option to install Windows 10. Thanks!

You can purchase a Windows 8.1 license now for your current PC, then upgrade to Windows 10 later. If you need more, you can reuse the same license for future systems. Thanks!
