For a reason, my non-steam Witcher 3 game makes my CPU run at full capacity when I try to close it. When paused but still running, CPU usage stays low at 10-15%. During playtime, it jumps to about 25%. Why does it spike to 100% during minimization? What tasks are being handled when it's stopped? The latest update 1.12 and the Hearts of Stone DLC have been added.

It takes a long time to set up, about 10 to 20 seconds each time I need to switch it on or off. Not very practical.

What is this? You might think turning it off would help, but running it in a borderless window makes it run smoother. It feels fast—almost instant on your PC—and using borderless windows tends to be more reliable than switching tabs.

Isn’t this affecting performance negatively? It seems full-screen usage consumes more resources. Additionally, my desktop remains visible regardless of the settings, even when I activate the bottom-right menu.

doesn't impact performance for you, it shouldn't either—it still sends the same CPU and GPU commands! I can't see my taskbar in borderless windows, but when I launch Steam Overlay or the inventory, I can switch to my second monitor. If I press Alt+Tab, the game stays running smoothly without pausing.

You're unsure about what "mess up" means—it just stops the game. It's a good approach, though performance might be an issue on high-end systems, which isn't surprising. Thanks for sharing; it sounds like others have had similar experiences.
