my question here is if i should wait until microsoft rolls out a windows 11 update for my pc or should i install it through the windows 11 install assistant? if i can or i should not could you explain why? Thanks in advance! Edited October 6, 2021 by LogicalDrm Attachement removed
Just to clarify, no one will open that file. I wouldn’t suggest upgrading to Windows 11 right now. It functions fine on my laptop, but it’s problematic on my PC—both have Ryzen CPUs, with the 4th generation and 2nd generation respectively.
I don't anticipate any problems on either path. Prerelease updates tend to be quite reliable (this is from a build I'm testing on my main machine right now...). I'd be cautious about Dev or earlier Beta versions, but with the current Prerelease release, that's no longer a concern. The timing really depends on when you plan to install Windows 10.
As someone who's been through many major Windows releases, i'm waiting to put it on my primary machine. I've been using its pre-release builds for a few months now on my laptop, however, and its been fine. No real rush.
Windows 11 isn’t as stable as Windows 10 on my desktop. After a day of trying Windows 11, I went back to Windows 10 and plan to dig deeper into the problem. This is my first major upgrade, and now I understand why people advise waiting!
I upgraded and I’m sorry

I've noticed that regardless of the version, updating Windows to the next major release on an existing setup often causes unexpected problems. Before making any changes, I always back everything up and perform a clean install afterward. This approach helps in several ways: it avoids complications during the upgrade, provides a fresh operating environment, and allows me to identify compatibility issues as they arise during the reinstallation process.
