I own an i7 7700k, a gtx 1050ti, 8 GB DDR4 at 2100 MHz, an 800W power supply, and an h270 motherboard. Despite these specs, I’m still struggling to hit 50 FPS in GTA 5 on ultra settings. It feels like a significant investment isn’t delivering the performance I expected. Could you help improve this?

Feeling let down about the graphics card selection. The 7700k requires a minimum of GTX 1080.

Your graphics card is the main limiting factor, while your CPU offers one of the top gaming CPUs available (besides the new 8700k). Even when playing at 1080p with 'Ultra' settings, you won't reach high FPS unless you upgrade to something like a GTX 1070 or better. With a GTX 1060 6GB or RX 580 8GB, you'll maintain steady 60-80FPS at 'Ultra' levels.

When you don’t have a 1080, opt for the top GPU you can manage. A 1060 with 6GB or an 1070/1070 Ti would be your best choices. If budget allows, go with a 1070 Ti; otherwise, a 1060 is a solid alternative based on current pricing.

You should adjust the settings lower for higher FPS. Why are you playing GTA 5 on ultra when it works fine at a higher setting? Just try running it at high instead. It appears similar but runs smoother.

Consider an i5 with 1060 or 1070 with 6GB RAM for gaming. Opt for quicker memory and a Z-series chipset board.

It looks like the components don’t quite fit together well. A 7700k on a H270 board with an 1050ti and an 800w power supply seems a bit off. You’ll likely need a more powerful GPU for gaming, such as a 1060 or 1070. The 1060 is only slightly better than the 1050ti, so I’d recommend going with a 1070 instead.
