I'm not sure if the frame rate is just underwhelming in Destiny 2, but it hovers between 70-80 on low-medium settings and 40-60 fps in busy areas. My CPU usage is about 15% and GPU around 25%, using an AMD Ryzen 7 1700X eight-core processor, a 3400 MHz GPU, GTX 1060, 6 GB RAM, and 32 GB storage.

You might want to keep an eye on how each core is performing. One could be close to its limit and experiencing issues.

The system isn't overly constrained overall. Similar issues appear in games like WoW and online platforms, stemming from server management rather than local hardware. The server must constantly track player positions and actions in real time, increasing demand on both CPU and RAM as more users join. Once the data reaches your machine, your CPU handles it, but the main limitation lies with the server's capabilities. Crowds can strain processing power, and rendering avatars adds to GPU workload. Reducing latency often depends more on server proximity than your personal setup.

Avoid being slowed down. Consider increasing the CPU RAM speed in the BIOS so memory operates at its true capacity.

Every system has its limitations. This also varies based on how it's used, and I’d argue games aren’t the best tool for identifying bottlenecks. First, you must choose appropriate games to confirm improvements aren’t masking issues, and second, games consume resources differently. Nonetheless, they’re ideal for evaluating user experience aspects like FPS, lag, graphics quality, and tearing. For accurate bottleneck detection, proper benchmarking software is essential. Also, remember “Fix yo RAM dawg.”

This implies adjusting the CPU voltage via BIOS to auto mode and enabling XMP profile support.
