Check if your Ryzen 9 5950X is limiting the X570 at 1440p+ performance.
I own a Ryzen 9 5950X paired with an RTX 7900 XTX nitro graphics card. After the newest driver update, my GPU utilization in Battlefield 2042 at 1440p medium settings dropped from 100% to around 85-90%. I’m using a Samsung Odyssey G7 1440p at 240Hz. Is my Ryzen 9 5950X limiting the GPU performance? Should I consider upgrading to a Ryzen 7000 series or Intel 13000? Appreciate your advice.
Determine the processor load during GPU performance drops. Identify shared clock speeds between the two processors. Assess hardware compatibility for component ratios. Specify the type of RAM installed.
It seems like a driver or game update problem. Higher frame rates usually come from a newer CPU. You can check your CPU performance. Remember, with a 4090 GPU, this should work fine. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-r...3d/20.html
it seems like a CPU limitation is the issue. If a 7700X causes a bottleneck with a 4090 at 4K (as noted by Daniel Owen), it's likely the 5950X is limiting a 7900 XTX at 1440p.
System load sits between 30-40%, processor operating at 4600-4650MHz, RAM is team group vulcan at 3200MHz. Graphics card runs at 2850-3000MHz with default configuration.
It seems like there might be a slight misunderstanding. Could you clarify what you're referring to? If you're talking about performance, I can help analyze it further.
