Registered memory isn't compatible with AM4 or AM5 sockets, only with Epyc servers and possibly (uncertain) Threadripper Pro. Unregistered or unbuffered ECC memory is allowed, but the motherboard maker must actually turn it on and support it via BIOS. Also, Ryzen chips perform best with higher RAM speeds—ideally around 3600 MHz, though 3200 MHz works fine—and using 2133 MHz would hurt performance, even at 2666 MHz it wouldn't be optimal.
It’s unlikely RAM is designed exclusively for servers and behaves differently from standard desktop RAM. In very rare instances it might be compatible, but that’s highly improbable.
The link mentions both ECC and REG, indicating REG is present. This means it’s registered, even if ECC isn’t, and won’t function in your configuration.
Memory cards with registered drives include an additional chip that alters the signal, acting like a different language for the processor. Standard desktop chips can't understand it. ECC is another component, a separate chip placed for every 8 RAM chips to keep track of errors in the data stored elsewhere.
No registration option is available for consumer devices or chipsets unless it's the X58 platform and you're using an Xeon processor. You might find some server boards compatible with AM4 that support ECC, but you'd also need a Ryzen Pro CPU. It's unclear if adding a Ryzen Pro would enable ECC to function properly, or even at all. You'd also need RAM rated for at least 3000 MHz, which most manufacturers can handle. I doubt the performance will be affected much beyond that, unless the PCB is pushed too hard with many ranks (like quad 2x4s). I think the issue will mainly come from the PCB itself, possibly failing around 3000 MHz. The ECC chip itself might only stress the IC with excessive ranks (quad 2x4s), but RAM speeds should stay within limits. I’m not sure how much it will hurt, but I’ll test with an ECC DDR3 1x4/2x4 stick once I decide to buy one.
