Hey there! It looks like you're weighing up your options between your current Ryzen 1700X and potential upgrades. Considering the 3rd generation Ryzen options, the 3600X is a solid choice if you're looking for good performance without breaking the bank, while the 3700X offers more power at a higher price. If you're open to it, the 3600X is available for around £153 and the 3700X for £215—what do you think?

You're considering switching from a 1070 to a 2070. It might be a better option right now compared to upgrading the CPU.

What kind of motherboard do you have? If yours is from an earlier generation, you’re likely stuck with the 3000-series and will need to replace it to run the Ryzen 4000 series. The GTX 1070 remains functional today, but upgrading to a RTX 2070 would provide a significant performance improvement.

I own a B450 motherboard and wasn't certain about upgrading the RAM slot, so I'm leaning toward a third-generation option.

B450 doesn’t work with Ryzen 4000 models unless AMD decides otherwise. You’ll need a 500-series card like B550 or X570 for that processor.
