Check if your RAM supports dual-channel connectivity.
Hello everyone! For your Ryzen 7 1700X with a GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 motherboard, you can upgrade to 32 GB RAM. You currently have two 8 GB sticks at 2400 MHz and are considering higher-speed options. The BIOS will default to 2400 MHz, but you can purchase 3200 MHz sticks that support dual-channel operation. It's not strictly necessary to buy only 2400 MHz DIMMs if you want future flexibility or resale value—just ensure the new sticks match your system's brand and model.
When using all four channels together, you'll probably need a 2400MHz connection, but removing the older setup lets the motherboard and CPU handle the higher 3200MHz.
I prefer keeping the familiar options while incorporating all four sticks.
