It might not always succeed—it feels like a guessing game right now. To increase your chances, try using memory that matches the same chip type; for instance, if you have Samsung B-DIMM, get another Samsung B-DIMM for better compatibility.

When using all four channels together, you'll probably need a 2400MHz connection, but removing the older setup lets the motherboard and CPU handle the higher 3200MHz.

That's my main worry. I'm okay with purchasing 3200 MHz modules that operate at 2400 MHz. The issue is whether they'll function properly in a dual-channel setup.

They'll keep supporting you as long as you own two or more sticks. For AMD users, three sticks provide an async dual-channel setup, while the first two sticks ensure the final stick remains active.
