Hello,
I recently tried overclocking my GTX 1070 and here are the outcomes.
Core clock is at +240 with a +260 adjustment causing some artifacts.
Memory clock stands at +400, and I plan to increase it further.
Some folks mention achieving good results with +180 core clocks, but I’m at +240.
Am I just fortunate or is this typical for my setup? This is my first overclocking attempt.
My system includes an Msi 1070 armor with 8GB RAM, i5-6600k processor, 16GB DDR4 memory from Corsair Vengeance at 2666MHz, Gigabyte MB GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming motherboard, a 650W Evga Supernova G2, a 240GB SSD, and a 2TB HDD.

Hello,
I recently overclocked my Gtx 1070 and here are the outcomes.
+240 core clock (+260 adds some noise)
+400 memory clock (planning to increase this)
Someone mentioned trying +180 core clocks, while I’m at +240.
Am I just lucky or is this typical? This is my first overclocking attempt.
Here’s what my setup looks like:
Msi 1070 armor 8gb
i5-6600k
16 gb ddr4 corsair vengeance 2666 MHz
Gigabyte MB GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming
650 Watt Evga Supernova G2
NZXT s340 elite black/red
240 GB ssd
2 TB HDD
If it stays stable after benchmarks like 3DMark or Unigine Valley/Heaven, then your GTX 1070 is a great overclocker. I barely managed to hit 100+ Mhz on my armor.

If there are no instability problems, I'd think it's acceptable. Just to be sure, have you run stress tests multiple times? Tools like Unigen\3dMark etc.

Hello,
I overclocked my Gtx 1070 for the first time and these are my results.
+240 core clock (+260 gives artefacts)
+400 memory clock (Planning to up this)
I hear people talking about getting "lucky" with +180 core clocks, while I'm here with +240.
Am I just lucky or is that normal? This is my first time overclocking ever.
This is my build, if it has anything to do with it.
Msi 1070 armor 8gb
i5-6600k
16 gb ddr4 corsair vengeance 2666 MHz
Gigabyte MB GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming
650 Watt Evga Supernova G2
NZXT s340 elite black/red
240 GB ssd
2 TB HDD
If that is stable after using benchmarks like 3DMark or Unigine Valley/Heaven. Then your GTX 1070 is an amazing overclocker. I could barely get a 100+ Mhz out of my GTX 1070 armor.
What Mhz did you get to if you don't mind me asking? I haven't put any MSI cards through their paces except my 1060.

I could crank my 1070 to 1987-2025 range depending on temps with OC. But i just didnt bother keeping it. The gain was to little to be worth the extra heat.

Yeah. It's great to have the extra cost later on if you hold onto your cards until they become outdated!
