Hello. I recently purchased an MSI Wave RX Vega 64 for my PC built in 2017. It's great to see some genuine used prices again. I understand my 500W PSU might be a bit outdated, but I'm curious if it's still possible to use the card. My main concern is whether I can undervolt it and set a stable power limit. I'm a bit tight on funds and prefer not to replace the PSU. The processor is an 1700X. Any advice would be appreciated.
Well, they say it can do 480w on 12v output. Though it's bronze efficiency ... so at the very least make sure there's plenty of room for the power supply to suck in air from outside and push it through the psu to stay cool. At 400w+ output to video card and cpu, you're gonna have maybe 87-90% efficiency, so around 400w will go to components and 50w will be heat which must go out, so the psu will need good ventilation.
