Hello, I believe I went through all the possible tests I could perform so far. About five months ago my PC experienced some issues, which led me to purchase a new GPU. My system runs AMD and currently lacks an integrated graphics card. I acquired a MSI 3070Ti Ventus 3 at that time. Since I use the machine frequently for work, simulations, CAD, and data analysis, I needed a replacement quickly. Recently, prices for the 4070Ti dropped significantly, and with my birthday approaching, a friend wanted a 3070Ti. I bought a Gigabyte 4070Ti Windforce and am considering selling the old one. Unfortunately, my PC won’t boot into BIOS—it only shows a d6 message. The power supply isn’t an ATX 3.0 model yet, so I used the well-known NVIDIA adapter (two-way). Despite trying single or multiple cables on the adapter, there’s no fan spin, and even though the older 3070Ti runs smoothly, this setup seems problematic. The PSU cable I ordered for my PSU is delayed, expected in 2-3 weeks, and I won’t have another machine to test it until then. The motherboard has the latest BIOS, supports PCI-e auto, Gen 4, UEFI, and resizable mode. The case had a dent, suggesting it was dropped, but the GPU itself appears fine. Could this be the cause? Anyone have an idea? It might be the GPU or the adapter, but I’ve exhausted my testing options.

Ensure the power cables are correctly linked since several have encountered problems with the new ones.

I was really excited about this, so I connected all the wires, waited for the clicks, and then pushed them in. I checked for any gaps between the plastic molds. They made good contact—there’s no doubt about that. It’s just a 285W card; there’s no fan spin and the D6 error code means it hasn’t been initialized yet.
