Hello everyone, I have an MSI X370 SLI PLUS motherboard and a Ryzen 5 1600 processor. I’m thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600(x). The page you shared says the 5600x is compatible with the "Latest Beta BIOS." Should I be cautious about making this change now? Thanks!

I would prefer to wait for a non-beta release.

Since it took them until this past May to get that beta BIOS with 5000-series support out and there's been nothing since, I wouldn't count on a non-beta version ever appearing.

This board includes bios support for the past year or more. Update to the newest bios. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X370-SLI...pport#bios

The beta version seems acceptable, and support for 5600 is available in a non-beta release.

You seem to have your conclusion right. It looks like the latest BIOS update already includes compatibility for that CPU, making Ryzen 5 5600 support technically available. For context, AGESA version 1.2.0.6 is required for the 5th generation Ryzen to function properly, and the 2022 BIOS update was at version 1.2.0.7.

I noticed the info about 1.2.0.7 for the 5th generation. It seems that 1.2.07 might be considered stable support now. Probably best to proceed with that version.

You're right. I reviewed the CPU details and noticed it was listed as 1.2.0.6, but it seems that version might be outdated or unavailable on most boards. I believe 1.2.0.7 was the more common release at that time.
