Hello, I'm looking to assemble a new PC and checking if these components work together. The CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X at 3.7GHz, paired with the MOBO:MSI B450M Mortar Max motherboard. The RAM is G.Skill Ripjaws V (2x8) with 16GB of DDR4 at 3200MHZ. I'm also using the BIOS code F4-3200C16D-16GVKB. Could you confirm if this RAM fits the motherboard and CPU? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
They should function well together. To verify the compatible RAM options for your motherboard, you’ll need to check the supported list. For the 5600X, it won’t work with the standard setup unless you upgrade to an older Ryzen or AMD AM4 socket processor. It seems a B550 board would support the Ryzen 5000 right out of the box, though confirmation from another user might be helpful. I’m currently using a B450 and haven’t installed the Ryzen 5000 yet.
Yes. There's a BIOS update for the board that adds 5000 series CPU support. You may need to update the BIOS first, but it supports being flashed, so you just need power and a USB drive for that. RAM is perfectly compatible.
CPU and RAM work together. For the motherboard, verify it supports the Ryzen 5000. If not, a BIOS update may be necessary to enable the CPU. BIOS version 7B89v2C and newer is compatible with the Ryzen 5000. I wasn't able to locate QVL for that board, but the RAM should function properly.
