It might be wise to check the motherboard manual. A problem could arise when connecting an M.2 drive, as it may disable certain SATA ports. Drives linked to those ports won’t function properly. Other ports should remain operational. It’s possible that turning off all M.2 slots would shut down all SATA connections. I haven’t seen this happen before, but it’s something to consider.
