I'm using a SATA 3 SSD. It's limited to 6Gbps, but my PCIe slot supports X3 on the B250 PC mate. So the correct M.2 drive would actually be significantly faster? That sounds right. Just wanted to confirm before making the purchase. Thanks!

Be mindful of the options available; there are also m.2 SATA SSDs, though they don’t offer speed. An NVMe drive is recommended. The benefit is most noticeable with big files.

You think a fivefold boost in OS speed is realistic? It’s not true. The real gains come when handling big files, such as videos, where NVMe delivers noticeable improvement.
