RMA confirmed everything is under their control. GPU appears unlikely to be the issue. Possible next steps: older NVME might be failing, RAM could be defective (run another memory test), or PSU performance is insufficient. I've received the 5700X3D and will monitor further.
Additionally, over the past three weeks using the GTX 1060, there have been no of the earlier problems mentioned, and I haven’t run any demanding games.
The GPU warranty procedure is likely one of the least helpful experiences you can have with customer service. Different companies handle things very differently—some simply accept a bad GPU and ask you to return it. I’m not familiar with Biostar’s support (besides old motherboard issues), so I don’t know what to expect. My comments are just general observations. What I find concerning is that these claims don’t always match real experiences from other GPU returns.
Well, just got back with the 6700XT. It seemed like installing AMD drivers caused problems. The system would restart when I booted up, especially when the second screen turned off, and there was a warning about changed settings. Someone suggested turning off Windows 10 automatically, which helped fix it. Maybe the original issue was a bad driver. I didn’t install them myself before, but now I’m just watching to see if crashes or power loss return. Thanks for keeping this thread going!
It occurred around mid-reboot. The RAM theory is gaining interest. Yesterday my applications kept freezing (browser, Discord, Steam, etc.). I turned off the XMP profile and adjusted the speed to 2666. Results will become clear soon.
