So here's the deal.. Specs: CPU: i7 6700 (good for 1440p with a 1070 ti is think) GPU: 1070 ti 8gb PSU: plenty good enough 600w bronze evga MOB: hp oem motherboard by the name of odense, it supports my cpu and i have no problems running 100% cpu tasks, cpu stays cool RAM: 2x8gb ddr3L 1600mhz (one samsung and one kingston, identical specs except for spd revision, one is 1.3 one is 1.1, they seem to work fine together) So, my games have been performing pretty lackluster, alot of the times in games like rust and escape from tarkov i dont see my utilization maxed for my gpu and its usually even lower for my cpu, especially when i try for high fps with lower graphics settings, gpu or cpu are not the bottleneck, at least according to utilization in msi afterburner osd. What is stopping me from turning down graphics settings and playing at a higher fps? the only thing I can do at this point is crank my 1070 ti to high settings on 1440p to get the best looks and performance but I would prefer trying the option of a high fps. (No i cannot buy ddr4 my mobo only supports ddr3) Help please!

It seems DDR4 RAM might be limiting your performance. EFT isn't great for optimization. I'm getting 90-110 FPS on a 3700x and an RTX 2080. The 1070 is decent, but at 1440p on a game with low usage, you won't enjoy it much.

Your current CPU usage per core remains the same regardless of future years.

Game speeds are becoming more common in recent titles, reaching 3 to 15 frames per second in some games. The impact of 1440p resolution is clear. He’s also leveraging laptop RAM, though I’m unsure about the exact latency effects. It seems the best approach is to use the current system.

Ddr3L is essential for Skylake processors, while standard Ddr3 can damage them and DDR4 doesn’t fit my motherboard. These are full-sized desktop Ddr3L units, except for the exception in Rust. Why is this happening?

Ddr3L is a lower voltage memory, sorry for the mix-up. 1600 was typical back then, I believe those games didn’t perform well at 1440p on your system. If you had a motherboard and a DDR4 setup, you’d likely notice a modest boost—not a huge jump.

He needs more than just a new motherboard and DDR4 RAM; he’d also require a new CPU. Even with today’s prices, a Ryzen 1600AF still beats the 6700k, so I’d look elsewhere for help. What’s your utilization per core?

Apologies for the delayed reply. I reviewed each thread and found they are generally around 30 to 50% complete, which appears normal.

It seems like this might be a software problem. If it's not too severe, you could reinstall Windows entirely. Alternatively, try a gradual approach: remove the graphics driver using DDU first, then reinstall games. Also, ensure all other drivers and Windows are updated.
