I own a Foxconn H55MX-S board with 8GB RAM, an Intel Core i3 540 processor. I'm seeking help since my previous setup used Windows and the network adapter didn't work with Windows 8. No information available online for this model.

I'm using Windows 7 but want to switch to Windows 8. I previously tried and ended up back on Windows 7 because the network card didn't work, but now I have a new motherboard.

Which network card is connected? Have you installed the appropriate drivers for Windows 8?

I'm really not certain the network adapter was installed on the board. I tried locating it and found an old Dell Insprion 580 board, but I couldn't do anything further. Now I'm just running it to see if that helps. I'm double-checking everything.

Microsoft offers a compatibility check; I should look it up more before I proceed. Thanks for the heads-up!

Use the Windows 8.1 Upgrade Assistant to check compatibility. If it works, purchase Windows 8.1 through the same tool, install it or create a DVD, and you’ll be up to date with 8.1.
