I’m curious about upgrading your PC. Do you think 16GB of RAM will work for your needs? Since you don’t play demanding games, it might be fine. What are your thoughts?

You intend to use the computer with 16GB RAM if it doesn’t require heavy memory usage. Your motherboard likely has two RAM slots, so you might opt for a 32GB option or stick with one 16GB module while keeping single-channel capability. If you have four slots, combine two 8GB modules and allow future upgrades.

Generally, you'd consider exceeding 16GB only when the app demands more. Virtual machines consume significant space, and emulation tools for building apps also need room. For casual gaming, 16GB suffices fine.

The only reason I decided to create a system with 16G of RAM in 2021 was if you were working with a very limited budget. In Photoshop, I often notice usage between 18-30GB. For games, I've seen FS2020 consume around 24GB and Far Cry 5 use about 17GB.

It depends on your system setup. Matching it with an i3-10100 works—16GB is fine. Pairing with a Ryzen 9 5900x? Yes, aim for at least 32GB. RAM capacity grows based on your available resources if you choose to use more.
