The recommended M.2 slot isn't specified in the manual, but you should match the size and interface type (PCIe 3.0/4.0) for compatibility.

I was considering a different approach but wanted to try the second option. My Corsair MP600 requires removing the heatsink for slot A, as leaving it on blocks re-energizing the chipset fan grill. Slot B lets me take out the tiny board heatsink, but I’ll go with slot A for better performance if it means more power.
